Tokyo Samurai Show

Asakusa Kaguwa
This venue is a staple of Asakusa’s nightlife, blending traditional Oiran culture with samurai action. It is an excellent choice for those who want to see a professional stage production with vibrant costumes and synchronized choreography in a theatrical setting. It’s perfect for travelers who want a lively, show-style evening.

THE SHOW: Taira no Masakado
Most samurai shows are set in the Sengoku or Edo period, but THE SHOW – Taira no Masakado takes you back much further — to the mid-Heian period, around the year 930. This was about 250 years before the Kamakura shogunate, when the imperial court still held great power.

Samurai Restaurant
This is not a traditional period drama, but a neon-filled, modern dance extravaganza. It is perfect for visitors looking for a “vibrant Tokyo night” experience with loud music, robotic elements, and samurai-themed costumes rather than a historical martial arts demonstration.

KATANAYA ICHI
KATANAYA ICHI is an internationally acclaimed samurai performance team that brings historical stories to life through intense, nonverbal sword fighting. As a touring group, they focus on high-quality demonstrations at specific events or venues.
