We recently welcomed a group of 17 guests from Taiwan for a private samurai experience in Tokyo.
The group joined us as part of their Tokyo itinerary, and our samurai experience has become a popular activity for travel agencies looking to offer something unique beyond sightseeing and shopping. It gives visitors the chance to experience a part of Japanese culture in a hands-on way.
Tokyo Cultural Experience
After changing into samurai costumes, everyone learned the basics of handling a Japanese sword. Although it was their first time, the group picked up the movements surprisingly quickly.
Some guests delivered powerful cuts with confidence, while others impressed us with smooth, elegant forms. It was fun to see each person develop their own style during the lesson.
The session finished with pair practice and demonstrations, and the room was filled with smiles, applause, and plenty of photos. Seeing everyone’s confidence grow in such a short time is always one of the most rewarding parts of teaching.
