On April 8, 2025, Katanayaichi performed at “Japan u Briigu,” a Japanese culture event held at Briig Boutique Hotel in Split, Croatia. The event offered guests a one-night experience of Japanese tradition, art, cuisine, and performances.

After the show, we hosted our signature samurai experience. Since we only had five replica swords, we divided the participants into three groups.

With about 30 minutes available, the first group practiced basic samurai forms, the second group learned paired sword movements, and the third group had the chance to perform simple demonstrations. Everyone seemed to really enjoy the experience.
When hosting samurai workshops overseas, we often don’t know the number of participants, the space, or even the time available until the day of the event. Thanks to many such experiences, we’ve become very good at adapting to any situation on the fly.

The guests in Croatia were especially stylish. Many were staying at the resort hotel, and some even participated in the samurai experience wearing high heels. Seeing such fashionable outfits during the samurai training was something we don’t often encounter in Japan — and it looked fantastic. Thank you all for your wonderful energy!

Our performance was also featured in the local media outlet Dalmatinski Portal. One audience member commented, “It felt like stepping into a 3D samurai movie!”
