Replica Weapons Crafting

While performing Samurai stage shows, we craft weapons for film and theater, including ninja swords, Japanese katana, sabers, and axes.

As an actor and tate master, I craft high-quality, stylish weapons with a focus on realism, aesthetics, and usability.

Commitment to Weapon Crafting

In film and theater, weapons are crucial in bringing the story to life. Having crafted hundreds of swords, I understand that for tate (sword-fighting) performances, they must be functional, not just decorative. While the katana is a replica, it must be realistic, lightweight, and safe. Durability and practicality are key, which is why I make bamboo swords using Japanese-grown oak for strength and reliability.

Tonfa Replica Weapons

I am not a traditional swordsmith who forges real swords, but I create highly realistic weapons that could easily be mistaken for the real thing.

Recently, I’ve been receiving more requests for weapon creation from cosplayers and YouTubers. In cosplay photography, the quality of the weapons is extremely important.

Dai, a weapon craftsman

I began training in swordsmanship in 2004 and have performed in over 50 stage productions and films as an actor. In 2008, I founded “Katanayaichi” and have since performed tate (sword-fighting) in 25 cities across 16 countries. In 2013, I established the Samurai School in Tokyo.

Unsatisfied with the quality of commercially available weapons, I began crafting my own stage weapons around 2013. Prioritizing not only quality but also usability and durability, I eventually became known as a “weapon craftsman.” I also hold occasional weapon-making workshops, sharing my techniques with others.
